* A wrong turn on a sightseeing trip and a snowstorm led to extended stay

A sightseeing drive turned into an ordeal for a Rio Rancho man who got lost Thursday in Truchas, a northern New Mexico town between Taos and Espanola.

Prentice Dudley, 72, spent three nights stranded in his minivan that was stuck in the snow before being rescued on a mountain road by two snowmobilers about noon Sunday.

Dudley's wife, Yvonne, said Monday her husband was not hurt but was exhausted and sleeping after being lost for so long.

"I think he turned right when he should have turned left," she said.

Prentice Dudley said Monday afternoon that he "somehow made a wrong turn" and was headed north instead of south when it started snowing, and he lost his sense of direction. …
