Jury Split on Drug Trafficking Charge.(Metropolitan)

BERNALILLO An Albuquerque man was convicted of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking Thursday, but a Sandoval County jury could not reach a verdict on a charge of trafficking by possession with intent to distribute.

Thirteenth Judicial District Judge Louis P. McDonald declared a mistrial on the trafficking charge, but it can be refiled, according to Assistant District Attorney David Waymire.

Basilio Rojo-Alderet, 28, of Albuquerque, was accused of trying to sell about $500 worth of crack cocaine to a confidential informant in Bernalillo in an October 1998 drug bust. …
