E. Mountain High Plans for Next Year

With its first school year half over and its second approaching, the Governing Council of the East Mountain High School is setting its sights on the future.

The charter school will begin recruiting freshman and sophomore students for next year beginning Tuesday, council chairwoman Valinda Gorder announced at the council's regular meeting Monday.

The charter school, which opened Aug. 14 with 110 freshmen, plans to enroll up to 110 new freshmen for the next school year as well as new sophomores to fill any available vacancies in that class.

The school plans to admit students each year for the next three years until it reaches a maximum of 400 students. …
