Walgreens Agrees To Improve Pharmacy Procedures.(Metropolitan)

Walgreens has agreed to pay a fine and improve some of its procedures in supplying medicine at its pharmacies, under settlements reached this week between the chain and state regulators.

Inspectors with the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy cited 10 Walgreens pharmacies in New Mexico in late 1999 for a variety of problems related to the distribution of medicine to patients.

The two settlements resolve those citations and an additional citation against an 11th store. Most of the stores are in Albuquerque or Rio Rancho, according to the original filing.

Walgreens corporate officials have previously declined comment, and did not return a call Wednesday. …
