The West Side's Enchanted Hills shopping center is just about full, reports leasing agent Paul Martinez of Maestas & Ward Commercial Real Estate.

Anchors Furrs supermarket and Walgreens drugstore moved in about six and nine months ago, respectively, at the 8-acre commercial development at the southwest corner of U.S. 550 and N.M. 528.

Now four new tenants are scheduled to open in the center's newest, under-construction, 13,000-square-foot building.

The lease rate for smaller shops is about $16 a square foot, Martinez said. The contractor, Wilger Enterprise, broke ground Dec. 1 and should finish building at the end of February. George Rainhart is the project architect.

Coming March 1 just next door to Furrs is Blockbuster Video. Franchise operator Serendipity Entertainment Inc. signed a four-year lease for a 4,500-square-foot space, said Jim Porterfield, vice president and general manager. …
