Far out, man. In distinctive retro-fashion jerseys, New Mexico's 8-and-under Tie Dyes boys team zipped through its 20-0-1 season to win the Sunny Delight 3v3 Soccer National Championships.

Wearing a collage of hues that any well-dressed hippie of the 1960s would have been proud to don, the team trounced Iowa's Bahama Men 7-1 in the title game at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 14.

"We just did it (the uniforms) because we like tie dyes," says soccer mom Nancy Dye, who adds that her surname is purely coincidental. "The boys actually tie-dyed (the jerseys) themselves. …
