KNME-TV opens youngsters to books.(Corporate Giving)

The Martineztown House of Neighborly Service recently received 100 First Books provided by KNME-TV's "Ready to Learn" program through a grant from Bank of America.

"Bank of America is participating in the First Book program as part of our ongoing commitment to support childhood development in New Mexico," said Jennifer S. Thomas, president and private bank executive.

"The Ready to Learn program, specifically, is important to us because of its focus on literacy and giving children a good foundation for life and learning."

The books are new and varied story books and go to pre-school and older children to emphasize reading at home.

At Martineztown, pre-schoolers receive a box to use to build their own libraries. …
