* Trustees defer vote on possible agreement with owner of Gas Pipe

A store that a former Los Ranchos official has called a "head shop" could open in the village if trustees approve a proposed settlement agreement presented during Wednesday night's meeting.

Trustees deferred voting on the proposed agreement with the Gas Pipe until their Feb. 14 meeting.

The agreement would resolve a lawsuit the Gas Pipe filed last year after trustees in February denied the store a business license at 6666 Fourth NW.

During a public hearing that preceded the trustees' February vote, many residents said they oppose the Gas Pipe because of the merchandise it sells, some of which they say is used for taking illegal drugs. …
