Applicants Sought For Schools Post.(Schools)

Five people have applied to become the new Moriarty Municipal Schools superintendent.

Elna Stowe, the current superintendent, announced Dec. 28 that she would retire from the position at the end of this school year.

The school district began advertising for a replacement the first week of January but has received only a few applications, Stowe said Monday.

Applications will be taken until Feb. 8. The Moriarty Board of Education hopes to hire a new superintendent by March 1.

Stowe said she was surprised more people haven't applied for the job because the Moriarty district has a lot to offer a prospective candidate. …
