Area Shovels Could Be Shoo-In for First at Race.

Ask almost anyone wearing a cast on an arm or leg what happened, and eventually the words "It looked like fun" pop up.

That probably applies to sitting on a snow shovel and careening down a mountain just for the sake of saying you went the fastest.

But Anthony Anaya, parts manager at Tillery Chevrolet in Moriarty, isn't worried about the danger he has a driver for his shovel.

This is not the kind of shovel you would use to clear a driveway. It's a high-performance racing machine designed and built by Galles Racing of Albuquerque, better known for racing Indy cars. Anaya bought the shovel because he said shovel racing get ready "looked like a lot of fun. …
