Another Street Added to City Truck Bans.

SF Traffic Officials Foresee Master Plan

While Santa Fe city officials attempt to develop a master plan for truck routes, another ban on heavy trucks from a residential street is taking effect and at least two more are in the works.

City Councilor Karen Heldmeyer said that as soon as the signs are posted, trucks weighing five tons or more will be banned from using San Mateo Road between St. Francis Drive and Old Pecos Trail unless they have business on the street. Heldmeyer sponsored the ban.

City Attorney Peter Dwyer said he and Traffic Division director John Nitzel are working on a master plan that will let truckers know where they can go, rather than where they can't. …
