4 Jaguars Disqualified In St. Pius' 83-76 Win

ALBUQUERQUE There's an old adage in basketball that says the homecourt advantage can be worth as many as 10 points to the host on a given night.

If that were the case in Wednesday's District 2-4A boys game at St. Pius High School, the visiting Capital Jaguars lost to the Sartans' home court and not the team dressed in St. Pius uniforms.

Whistled for 17 team fouls in the second half, Capital ran out of players down the stretch in a tough 83-76 loss to the third-ranked Sartans (13-4, 2-1). It was a loss that Capital players and coaches had a hard time accepting particularly given where they were in when fouls began to take their toll. …
