New Mexico State Is Co-Sponsoring Talks

Sustaining the rural quality of life in northern New Mexico communities will be discussed at a day-long workshop Saturday at the Santa Fe County Extension Office, 3229 Rodeo Road.

"Small farms and rural communities in northern New Mexico are struggling to sustain their quality of life," said Edmund Gomez of New Mexico State University's sustainable agriculture project in Alcalde. "If we want local agriculture and rural traditions to survive, we have to find answers to the problems and find them fairly soon."

Workshop topics will include public lands, acequia systems, water rights and marketing opportunities. …
