Gardeners Get Set For Spring Season.(Community)

Seeds are the stars at the fifth annual "Dia de La Semilla," or Seed Day, as the South Valley Growers Association kicks off its spring activities Saturday.

This early-season festival market open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. features heirloom seeds, native seeds, seedlings and many other garden products and information as the spring planting season approaches.

Seed Day will take place at 3907 Isleta SW, next to the Cristo del Valle Church.

"There will be more than 30 vendors on hand," said Rosalie Olivas, market manager. "This is our fifth year, and it's grown every spring. …
