Proposal Raises Questions Among Residents.

An area legislator and some East Mountains residents on Tuesday urged Edgewood's mayor and planner to scrutinize closely Campbell Farming Corp.'s proposal that Edgewood annex its land.

Campbell Farming Corp. is proposing that Edgewood annex 12,000 acres of its property, part of which lies in the Sandia Park area of Bernalillo County.

As part of the annexation request, Campbell Farming proposes that Edgewood accept its master plan to build 4,023 dwelling units, a resort and a golf course on 8,048 acres of its East Mountains property.

At a meeting at Cedar Point Grill in Cedar Crest, Rep. Ron Godbey, R-Albuquerque, Kathy McCoy of the East Mountain Legal Defense Fund, John Jones of Entranosa Mutual Domestic Water Association and Forest Park residents expressed concerns about Campbell Farming's proposal to Edgewood Mayor Howard Calkins and Edgewood planner Kelly Moe. …
