Opening Arguments Begin in Double-Slaying Trial in Taos.

TAOS The trial of a 21-year-old Taos man accused of killing two people at an El Prado trailer park last summer began Tuesday with opening arguments in which the prosecution portrayed the defendant as "intent on revenge" and the defense countering that he was acting in self-defense.

"The defendant shot and killed Jeremy Trujillo and Robert Miera," District Attorney Donald Gallegos said of Manuel "Tom" Tollardo. "Revenge took him to the trailer park that night, and what he did there has brought him to this courtroom today."

Las Vegas attorney Anna Aragon, Tollardo's public defender, countered that the facts in the case were under dispute "and if this case was all black and white, we could all go home. …
