Horsemen Get Fifth Straight Win.(Sports)

A pair of three-run homers and two Capital High pitching changes highlighted a six-run outburst in the bottom of the first inning Saturday for the St. Michael's baseball team in a 9-6 victory.

Played on a blustery Saturday afternoon at Brother Edward de Reyna Field, the win was the Horsemen's fifth consecutive and gave the team its sixth straight championship in the 20th Annual St. Michael's Baseball Tournament.

Tournament co-MVP Kyle Schnitger and first baseman Jordan Barela each hit towering home runs that gave the Horsemen (7-1) a lead they would not relinquish.

Co-MVP Josh Abeyta led things off with a single and a stolen base off Capital starting pitcher Ryan Wood. …
