Jill Pribyl, founder and executive director of a LANDdance, co-produced "An Evening of Contemporary Dance Work" with the New Mexico Contemporary Dance Alliance on Friday evening at the KiMo Theatre. The concert featured her new 45-minute-long "Water" in the second half of the program, with five shorter pieces by choreographer friends filling the first half.

"Water" was divided into eight parts, and was intended as a single theatrical experience. It was both a philosophical and political statement, often projecting statistics about water waste on the back scrim, while the performers scrubbed in showers or swatted imaginary golf balls on imaginary desert golf courses. …
