Restaurant's constantly changing menu offers taste and originality

Chef du Jour is still a tiny bite of originality in a city increasingly glutted with canned, predictable and processed food.

After 10 years in business and one change in ownership, this restaurant continues to turn out fresh, inventive and reasonably priced lunches and weekend dinners. It provides delicious entrees, picture-perfect salads and wonderful desserts, all served in a dining room smaller than the waiting area of most fast-food joints.

In fact, Chef du Jour is so small, there is no room for attitude, pretense or any other device that could distract a diner's attention from the plate or sway an otherwise unimpressed palate. …
