Acoustical Experts Hired To Fix Room

Ever since Cesar Chavez Elementary School opened in 1996, students and staff have made plenty of noise about the acoustical problems inside the multipurpose cafeteria.

Recently, the school hired specialists to fix the problem so that children will no longer hold their hands over their ears and beg their teachers to allow them to eat lunch in their classrooms.

The California-based acoustical consultants Purcell and Noppe and Associates, who worked on the Santa Fe Opera and the Lensic Performing Arts Center, were hired to help move the project forward. Harris Pinnacle 1 will oversee the project. …
