City To Widen 2 Roadways.

Plan Also Calls For Sound Barriers

The city of Albuquerque plans to widen some sections of Golf Course Road and Irving Boulevard to four lanes as part of a project that also calls for building sound walls as high as 14 feet along stretches of the roads.

According to the environmental assessment for the project, Golf Course Road will be widened from two to four lanes from Irving to Westside Boulevard, and Irving Boulevard will be widened from two to four lanes from Golf Course east to Chantilly Road with bike lanes and sidewalks also planned.

Other improvements slated for the project include the lengthening of turn lanes at the intersection of Golf Course and Irving and adding an additional eastbound left-hand turn lane there. …
