* Parker Haynes quits Taos board after felony conviction for marijuana possession comes to light

TAOS Parker Haynes, a recycling activist and Taos County planning commissioner, resigned from the planning commission on Tuesday after confirming he had a felony conviction for possession of marijuana and was seeking a pardon from Gov. Gary Johnson.

The 57-year-old Carson resident said he believed inquiries into his 1986 felony conviction for possession of more than 300 pounds of marijuana amounted to retaliation for his recent calls for resignations from several county officials over the rehiring of County Manager Robert Dale Morrison, an allegation county officials denied. …
