Projects Stick On Lack of Tax Cut

SANTA FE Projects proposed by Gov. Gary Johnson and his administration make up more than half of spending in a public works bill the governor has vowed to veto, according to a Legislative Finance Committee analysis.

Such projects, deemed to be of statewide significance and requested by Johnson or state agencies, account for nearly $150 million in proposed public works spending. Local projects total about $111 million, according to the LFC figures.

The LFC analysis looked at spending from the state's general fund and severance tax bonds. It did not categorize state and local projects for about $8 million from other funds included in the bill. …
