Big I Merges Can Be Dicey.(Metro & New Mexico)

CAN WE GET SOME BETTER BIG I MERGE MARKINGS? Tom Kerg works nights at the Sunport and says there are some dicey merges around the freeway-interchange project. His e-mail says "I think one is Lomas, and it just merges onto I-25 with no warning signs, yield or otherwise, and when going home at night those merging from Lomas don't even slow down. It's the same coming off Interstate 40 west onto I-25 north. The white lines need repainting and the old one (should be) blackened out.

Tom is dead on. A Journal editor wrecked his new car the first week he had it trying to get onto northbound I-25 from Lomas. That will teach him to buy a new car.

Patti Watson of Cooney, Watson and Associates, who's handling information for the interchange rebuild, says Tom's complaint is a frequent one. …
