City Offices To Seek Summer Lodgings.

* New furnishings, sprinkler system are among City Hall remodeling projects

The City Council, various city boards and the city cable channel will have to find new meeting and work places this summer while Rio Rancho City Hall is being remodeled.

City Hall was built in 1972 and was AMREP Southwest headquarters before the city moved in during the 1980s, said Ken Curtis, director of the city Public Works Department.

The City Council chambers also used to double as the Municipal Courtroom. In fact, the judge's bench is still there, and councilors sit at portable desks.

Municipal Court moved to Quantum Road in 1998. …
