AG, Ex-Dem Party Chairman Settle Suit.

The state Attorney General's Office has settled its lawsuit against Frank R. "Skitt" Trujillo former chairman of the Taos County Democratic Party and his wife, Ida, for alleged violations of state and county subdivision regulations.

The Trujillos will not face fines, but they will be required to make road improvements on part of about 200 acres north of Taos that were the subject of the suit which has been a hot political issue in Taos County.

Attorney General Patricia Madrid, in a prepared statement, said the settlement accepted Monday by state District Judge John Hall is "fair and reasonable."

She said the Trujillos have agreed to the road improvements and will not further subdivide their property "until paved roads and community water supply and liquid waste systems are in place. …
