Torrance limits topless clubs, adult bookstores, land transfer.(Business)

MORIARTY The Torrance County Commission has adopted changes to the county zoning ordinance that regulate adult entertainment in the county.

The commission unanimously approved changes last week that limit adult entertainment, such as topless dance clubs and adult bookstores, to six areas along Interstate 40 starting seven miles east of Moriarty and running about 35 miles to the county line.

People wishing to open new adult businesses in the new Developmental-3 zone will have to apply for a conditional-use permit and maintain standards set by the county.

Other changes in zoning regulations adopted last week affect family land divisions in agricultural and land-grant areas. …
