Success with national orders keeps printer on a growth roll.(Business)

Albuquerque Printing Co. is set to double its size for the second time in three years.

Success with such national accounts as Coors and Hallmark has the general commercial printer scrambling to keep up with demand for its display stands, table tents and other products, according to company president Tony Fernandez.

"I hope it continues that way," he said.

He is more than doubling the 20,000 square feet at 3838 Bogan NE with a 24,773-square-foot addition. He expects to break ground by the end of the month. Construction should be completed by mid-summer.

The company doubled its size in 1998 when it moved from 10,000 square feet in the Southeast Heights to the Northeast location.

The printer employs about 70 people and may hire 20 to 30 more before the end of the year, Fernandez said. …
