THE SANTA FE CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU received a best in class "Gold Adrian" award for its current advertising campaign at the 2000 Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International Travel competition.

The print campaign uses the theme "Santa Fe is " and describes one of four attractions: history, culture, romance and arts, set against scenes of the City Different.

The campaign was created by Impressions Advertising of Santa Fe. The judging compared advertising for travel destinations created by other and in many cases, much larger cities. The awards were presented at a dinner at the New York Hilton.

CAPITAL CITY BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN recently honored local businesses for their family-friendly policies and programs.

Outstanding employers were Guadalupe Credit Union in the under-50-employees category and The Bank of Santa Fe in the over-50-employees category.

In the first category, certificates of recognition were awarded to CheckTech, Division of Wood Financial Products, Inc., Inn on the Alameda, Mesa Steel, National Center for Genome Resources, Personal Computer Training Institute, Santa Fe Children's Museum, Santa Fe Institute and Turquoise Trail Physical Therapy.

In the over-50-employees category, certificates were awarded to Century Bank, College of Santa Fe, El Castillo Retirement Residences, La Familia Medical Center, Merrill Lynch, Santa Maria El Mirador, Talbot/Northern New Mexico Insurance, Thermo Eberline Corp. and Wells Fargo Bank.

According to Kathy L. Jahner, the event's chairwoman, the number of businesses with family-friendly policies is increasing. "Many corporations are changing policies to reflect the demographic shift of women spending more time in the paid labor force and men wanting to spend more time with their families," she said.

RESCARE NEW MEXICO was awarded accreditation by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Committee. …
