Publishing co-op hails mature writers' wisdom, creativity.(Trends)

Mary Fogarty loves being older and wiser. As a writer, she describes herself as more insightful and says she trusts her gut. "Now I can do whatever I want," she says at age 58. "If I decide I want something, I can make it happen."

With this newfound wisdom has come a burst of creativity. And energy.

Last year, she and three other mature writers in Valencia County started a publishing cooperative, Crones Unlimited, dedicated to celebrating wisdom and maturity.

Its first efforts were Fogarty's "Passions," a collection of poetry, and "Southwest Potpourri," a collection of writings by Janus (Janice F. Walters), George Forrest and Kuan Tikkun, known as the Rio Writers.

Fogarty's book is selling well on Amazon. …
