Gov. Says He Won't Be Asked To Quit

SANTA FE -- One of Gov. Bill Richardson's appointees to the state Construction Industries Commission once was arrested and charged with battery of his ex-wife.

David Dallago Jr., 48, was arrested and charged with battery on a household member in April 2001. In court documents, Dorthy Lopez, his wife at the time, said Dallago stepped on her foot at Colinas Del Norte Elementary School in Rio Rancho and challenged her to a duel in front of their daughter.

Their daughter and Lopez's boyfriend gave similar accounts of the incident, according to a police report.

A judge dismissed the misdemeanor battery charge later that year, ruling that the matter had been heard in another court. …
