Several Getting New Classrooms

Millions of dollars are being spent to improve school facilities in the East Mountains and Estancia Valley this summer.

Roosevelt Middle School in Tijeras will have several new buildings as part of a $1.47 million expansion project funded by an Albuquerque Public Schools bond issue.

Keith Walker, job site superintendent for Albuquerque construction firm FamCo Inc., said five new classrooms are going in at Roosevelt as well as new science and computer labs, a special education science lab, a technology presentation room and two sets of restrooms. Walker said a conference room, reception room and more office space are also being added. …
