More Cochiti Classrooms, Bigger Cafeteria Planned

The Bernalillo school board may award a bid today for the first phase of a renovation project that will add more than 3,000 square feet to Cochiti Elementary and Middle school.

Construction that was originally scheduled to begin in January will start later this summer, said project architect Russ Golightly from Gregory T. Hicks & Associates, P.C.

The $4 million Phase I construction entails building a new 24,000-square-foot addition onto the existing middle school. The addition will have a library/media center, cafeteria, computer lab and eight new classrooms. …
