Anticipating President Bush's visit to five African nations this week, a Ugandan woman expressed the hope he would not content himself with native entertainment and hospitality. More importantly, he should visit Africa's cemeteries, said Milly Katana, a board member of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Every minute, an African child dies of AIDS. Death from AIDS comes daily for 5,000 Africans.

If only for humanitarian reasons, Congress should deliver on Bush's promise of a five-year, $15 billion fight against AIDS in Africa, the pandemic disease that Secretary of State Colin Powell calls a greater threat to national security than terrorism. …
