Paralegal Is Accused Of Falsifying Divorces

Mohammed Issa and Courtney Goddard were all set to recommend Michelle Mignardot and her business, Affordable Paralegal, to a friend who needed an inexpensive divorce.

Oops.

Turns out Issa wasn't divorced after all, even though Mignardot had provided papers showing he was.

Meanwhile, Issa and Goddard had been married in a civil ceremony in Belen.

Now, the $525 they paid Mignardot is gone, and they're going about the laborious process of undoing the non-divorce and reconfiguring their marriage.

"What legal effect the new marriage has is not in my area of expertise," said Jerry Walz, the private attorney hired by the Second Judicial District to unravel problems from Mignardot's filings in this case and others. …
