DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Albuquerque Isotopes managed to do on the road what they couldn't do at home -- they won.

The Isotopes ended a five-game losing streak, their longest of the season, by beating the Iowa Cubs 7-2 Friday night in a Pacific Coast League baseball game.

The 'Topes were swept in a four-game homestand that ended Thursday night, and gave up 46 runs in the process.

Albuquerque starting pitcher Aaron Small (2-1) held the Cubs to seven hits through 8 1/3 innings. In a rare move for a 'Topes pitcher, Small did not walk a batter while striking out three. …
