Gov. Still Seeking Agency Director

Gov. Bill Richardson has named Rio Rancho businessman Don Chalmers to the New Mexico Commission on Higher Education.

Richardson also announced Wednesday that the state will perform a nationwide search for an executive director of the agency.

The 15-member Commission on Higher Education oversees New Mexico's 23 universities and colleges.

Chalmers will fill the post vacated by Albuquerque investment banker Paul Donisthorpe, who resigned June 16 amid media reports of his 1991 felony conviction in an alcohol-related fatality.

Chalmers is owner of Don Chalmers Ford in Rio Rancho. …
