* Middle school looking to fill position after David Bower resigns to pursue another job

Roosevelt Middle School is looking for a new principal after David Bower resigned.

Bower resigned to pursue a job out of state, said Jennifer Dunstan, spokeswoman for Albuquerque Public Schools. Dunstan said no one has been hired for the position yet.

Bower became assistant principal at Roosevelt in 1998, then became principal in 1999, according to APS. Before becoming an administrator, Bower was a teacher for about 20 years.

Dunstan said APS goes through a fairly comprehensive process to hire principals. Prospective candidates include sitting APS principals who may want to transfer to another school. …
