Mountainair Gets After-School Program Funding.(Mountain View)

Students of All Ages Can Attend

Students in the Mountainair schools will have a place to hang out after school next year, thanks to hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal funding.

Mountainair Superintendent Guy Seiler said a new after-school program will be funded by a 21st Century Learning Centers Program grant, part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.

Seiler said the program is being implemented by Mountainair Elementary School principal Terry Nunnely and should be up and running by September.

Two co-coordinators were hired for the program Monday. Susan Bunnell and Anne Ravenstone will share the job. …
