Finally -- a Lavender Fiesta that keeps in mind that you may be towing the kids along.

In other words, while you're learning how to make lavender soap and cook with lavender, the kids can enjoy face painting, clowns and a children's art contest (and the winner gets a family zoo pass).

Sponsored by the Village of Corrales and the Corrales Growers' Market, Sunday's Lavender Fiesta is scheduled for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the area adjacent to the Corrales Recreation Center and the Corrales Growers' Market (Jones and Corrales roads, approximately 2 miles north of Alameda).

The fiesta is hosted by Ellis and Louise Errett, who have been growing lavender and making lavender products under the name Enchanted Lavender for 11 years. …
