He may have been the nation's top collegiate gun, but Ruben Douglas might not be in anyone's cross hairs at tonight's NBA draft.

Douglas, Division I's leading scorer at 28 points a game last season at New Mexico -- and a one-time first-round candidate -- faces the very real possibility of going undrafted.

"I don't have him going to anybody," says Chris Monter of the Monter Draft News scouting service. "It's such a deep draft, and Ruben's an undersized shooting guard who lacks a point guard mentality and ball-handling skills.

"He could go late in the second round, but he probably won't be drafted."

The 6-foot, 3-1/2inch Douglas was a one-man scoring show last season for the 10-18 Lobos but shot just 39.7 percent from the floor. …
