Skate Park Gets Funds For Fix-Up.(Mountain View)

The Edgewood Town Council agreed at a special meeting Monday to spend up to $4,500 to make the town's skate park safer and cleaner.

The money will go toward repairing fencing around the park, restricting access to the park by cars and installing a portable toilet and trash cans. The council also instructed town staff to investigate whether security lights could be installed.

The park opened last November but has been beset by vandalism and trash problems. Councilor Paul Hoffman suggested earlier this month that lights be installed.

Included in the recommendations:

* Get rid of a mobile home on the property that the town has been using for storage. …
