It's hard to figure how one of the casualties from the war in Iraq could be Junior ROTC at Albuquerque Public Schools.

The American Civil Liberties Union is representing teachers who violated district policy and the union contract in a one-sided display of anti-war posters. The teachers also refused to remove the posters and were suspended for insubordination.

The ACLU argues that the teachers' anti-war advocacy should be permitted as a counterweight to promoting pro-military viewpoints on campus. As a result, APS officials are considering limits on ROTC.

They should consider this: "Pro-military" doesn't equate with "pro-war," which is the flip-side of the anti-war advocacy in which the teachers engaged. …
