Isotopes Can't Keep Pace With Latest Hit Parade

Watching his pitchers get slapped around for 31 hits over two nights isn't sitting well with Albuquerque Isotopes manager Dean Treanor.

Edmonton on Sunday rudely greeted two pitchers just called up from Double-A and pounded the 'Topes into submission for the second straight night, 12-8.

Trappers first baseman Luis Ortiz followed up his own tough act with a 4-for-5, two-homer performance. A night earlier he went 3 for 4 with a double and homer.

Right-hander Aaron Small (0-1), called up from Double-A Carolina and making his Isotopes debut, took the brunt of the abuse. …
