Group Home For Deaf Damaged.(Final)

The region's first group home for deaf teenagers has more work to do before it can open after vandalism left program coordinators with thousands of dollars worth of damage to repair.

When a workman arrived at the home Friday morning, he found a bathroom sink had been plugged and the water was left running overnight. Three of the home's four bedrooms were flooded. The break-in is believed to have occurred Thursday night.

The home, near Wyoming and Osuna NE, had been in the final stages of remodeling in order to obtain its license through the Children, Youth and Families Department, said David Sorensen, a licensed clinical therapist who will oversee the home. …
