* Gross receipts income exceeds May expectations and will finish year 5 percent higher than the original estimate

Rio Rancho is in fine financial shape heading into the next fiscal year, according to the city's Finance Department.

The city exceeded its gross receipts revenue estimate in May by $79,182, according to a memorandum from Finance Director Dick Kristof to the city administrator.

The report marks the 10th time in 12 months the city has finished above Kristof's gross receipts tax projections for the fiscal year, which begins July 1.

According to the memo, the city will finish this fiscal year $673,802 above projection, 5 percent higher than the original estimate. …
