Buddhist Temple May Be Built.(Final)

A new Buddhist temple could soon grace Trumbull Village.

The city Environmental Planning Commission on Thursday approved site development plans to allow a new temple to be built for Chua Quang Mihn, The New Mexico Vietnamese Buddhist Association.

The temple has been at 420 Pennsylvania SE between Bell and Trumbull for 16 years.

It serves a congregation of about 30 to 40 people, said Thanh Nguyen, vice president of the association.

The EPC approved a plan that would consolidate four lots into one. Also approved was a request to demolish an existing single-family dwelling and replace it with a 6,680-square-foot two-story temple with a red, clay-tile roof and a red-brick body. …
