Shooting Killed 2-Year-Old Girl

Jesus Barthelemy, one of two men accused in the fatal shooting of a 2-year-old girl during a drug dispute, was sentenced to more than 30 years Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

Jailene Cisneros was shot in the head on the night of June 18, 2001, as her family sat in their living room. Police said the lighted window led the suspects to believe the duplex at 11th Street SW was the home of a pair of drug dealers.

The toddler's mother, Margarita Bustos, and sister, Jazmine, 13 at the time, were wounded.

Barthelemy, a repeat offender convicted in the past of car theft and drug possession, had been charged with first-degree murder. …
