Hot Cajun music is in the house

As diverse as Albuquerque's music scene is, I don't imagine (and please write me if I'm wrong here) that many people have experienced two fiddle players, a mandolin, stand-up bass, guitar and a touch of percussion playing Cajun fiddle tunes, Western swing and traditional jazz ... in their living rooms.

I hope I've just inspired a local group of musicians to prove me wrong, but until then we will have to settle for the above act -- called The Red Stick Ramblers -- playing an AMP House Concert on Tuesday, June 24. The group, made up of players mostly in their 20s, quickly built a following while attending Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (French for "red stick"). …
