Some Don't Finish Play in First Round

SANTA ANA PUEBLO -- What's a round of golf in New Mexico without a little weather?

A national television audience got to witness the Land of Enchantment in all its splendor Thursday, complete with a scintillating little lighting storm during the opening round of the PGA Club Professional Championship at Twin Warriors.

"It's New Mexico; this is what you get used to," Pendaries head pro Larry Webb, the state's only player in the field, said during the break. "But we need the rain, so it's OK."

Unfortunately, the rain never came, prompting an analyst for The Golf Channel to note, "This is the driest weather delay I've ever seen."
